Kangyi Shen is an internationally based architectual and interior designer working in East Asia, West Europe and North America. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Environment & Interior Design from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, School of Design. He receives his Master of Architecture degree from University of California at Berkeley, College of Environmental Design this spring.

Kangyi has worked for Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Richard Meier & Partners in Los Angeles, M Moser Associates in Hong Kong, ZAO/Standardarchitecture and Turenscape in Beijing.Projects include boutique hotels, factory adaptive reuse, historical housing renovation  and office interior design.

From May 2020 to August 2021, Kangyi had his own practice in Beijing. He built a small cafeteria For Ningbo University (strategic planning, facade and interior design) and a 1000 sqf dessert shop in the historic city center of Suzhou. He and his team designed a water themed resort in South China and freeway visitor centers in Anhui and Henan Provinces. In Beijing, they designed housing interiors and a cafeterial+library on top of the old CCTV Tower as well as other projects.

With varied experience in strategic planning, architectural design, interior design, competitions, marketing and management, Kangyi has a comprehensive viewpoint regarding urban, architecture and interior design, coordinating with each other and together cooperating with business.

With his rich background in education, practice and world urban centers, Kangyi has developed a unique design philosophy focusing on user experience, cultural and natural context, and a professional understanding of working with related professions and cliens.
